I wondered if anyone out there in blogland:
a.) actually reads this drivel, and
b.) if you would be so kind as to impart your wisdom to me.
The below mentioned ‘dress-that-doesn’t-actually-fit, ahem’ is about 1-2” too small around the upper back.
My question is: if you’ve lost weight, and have measurements, consistently for a month or two, how many inches did you lose around the bust/ waist during that period? (and how tall are you)
You can see what I’m getting at here can’t you! Am I likely to be able to get into that dress if I lose the maximum 12 lbs between now and then I wonder?
Obviously I understand it comes off in completely different places on different people, and there are no guarantees I will lose any where I actually want to etc, but I’m basically just wondering if anyone has any knowledge/ statistics/ experience?
Roughly how many pounds equate to dropping a dress size around the size 16/18 range. Any experience or pearls of wisdom would be delightfully and thankfully appreciated!!

Oh tricky one.
ReplyDeleteSince January I have lost 28lbs. I am 5 foot 5 inches. This weight loss has equated to about 5 inches off my waist in total and 4 inches off my hips and 4 inches off my chest (I have like zero bust now), I have been pretty consistent too. I have gone from a UK 16 to a UK 10 (sometimes I need a 12, depends where I shop).
I think the first 3 months was 3 inches (waist) and 2 clothes size. the last 3 months 2 (waist) and another clothes size. It did however take a long time for my thighs to slim down. I had a size 10 waist but size 12 thighs for much of this time so to ask how many pounds it takes to drop a size is difficult. Technically 2 inches is a clothes size but I haven't lost 6 inches but have gone down 3 clothes sizes and I can assure you they are not tight.
If you are consistent and losing gradually you will eventually get into a smaller size, it crept up on me what felt like overnight my size 12 to a 10. Carry on working hard and you will be rewarded. Take measurements and don't let the scales rule you.
Stick at it, you will get there.
Thanks so much for your comment Victoria.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know two inches is technically a dress size (as we all know, they vary so much).
I seem to have lost a little everywhere since my heaviest, rather than many inches from one spot.
Thanks again

Answer to question 1: I read your post!
ReplyDeleteAnswer to question 2: I'm a guy, so know nothing about measurements....but loads about busts! LOL
Haha! Thanks Tim! I'm guessing you're of the opinion that the least lost around that area the better!
